Pediatric Feeding Disorders

  1. Pediatric feeding disorders go way beyond "picky eaters", but can often be overlooked. Your child may be described as a "picky eater", but consider talking to your medical provider if the following circumstances are present:
    1. Extreme pickiness (eating fewer than 12 foods)
    2. Distress and anxiety with new foods
    3. Inability to increase textures as your infant or child grows
    4. Inability or refusal to feed oneself
    5. Mealtime tantrums
    6. Mealtimes exceeding 40 minutes
    7. Feeding tube dependence
