Should I get my child a walker (a device with wheels that allows an infant to move around a room)?

NO!

A high percentage of children who use walkers have a significant injury. Some studies indicate up to 40% of infants who use walkers have an injury that requires medical attention. These injuries include lacerations, concussions, broken bones, and tooth injuries. Some children have died from walker injuries and some have had severe brain injuries resulting in significant impairment in their everyday functioning.

PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE NOR ACCEPT (AS A GIFT) A WALKER. IF YOU HAVE ONE PLEASE DO NOT USE IT!
